are you AFA?
Josh Guyer (completely deck) - February 8, 2012
Yes, sorry about the name change :P

Great win and another superhuman effort by Parker.
Notwithstanding, is Philly a little overrated? Wacha guys think?
alamobro - February 8, 2012
What a start to the RR !!!!!!!
alamobro - February 8, 2012
I think they’re good. They’re pretty deep and can play both ends of the floor effectively.
day_late_friend - February 8, 2012
I think they’re good.
I just think we are better.
SpursCupcake - February 8, 2012
We’re the best, aren’t we?
day_late_friend - February 8, 2012
exactly!
anirontag - February 8, 2012
Yeah, but their differential indicates they should be superhuman. They have a plus/minus of +10. No doubt inflated by playing in the EC…
alamobro - February 8, 2012
They’re the best defensive team in the league ans they play together. They’re a really good team.
bj1der - February 8, 2012
Not so sure about the best defensive team in the league….take a look at the Easter conference records. They are as inferior to the West as ever.
alamobro - February 8, 2012
Their last 5 games though where they went 5-1 was solid though.
grego21 - February 9, 2012
*4-1
grego21 - February 9, 2012
Their record at this point has been built up against Eastern Conference teams and the Western teams that are out of playoff contention. They did beat the Lakers; but have now lost to Portland, Utah, Denver and the Spurs.
Alamo - February 8, 2012
Yep, you have been saying that for a while now. Im a believer. When the smoke clears, things will likely be much like last season, with only a couple of legit eastern teams.
alamobro - February 8, 2012
Their last 5 games, they went 4-1 against playoff teams that are all .500 or higher. That is still solid. Earlier part of the season is a different story.
grego21 - February 9, 2012
they beat LA
that’s not nothing
right?
WaveOcean - February 8, 2012
They also beat a good bunch in that last 5, including Chicago.

grego21 - February 9, 2012
We need at least Paul George Hill for Green Blair Anderson. And we would need another big man. Right now I wouldn’t try to fix something which is not broken.
Kondor - February 9, 2012
At the moment, the only one who appears to be in the minds of the Spurs FO is Green. that said, Spurs will need to make a decision during the offseason.
grego21 - February 9, 2012
But of course, Paul George isn’t going anywhere. if all goes according to plan in his playing days, he’ll be a Pacer for a long time.

TP was terrific, yet again, Timmy continues to be a beast, and despite getting “Pop’d” (bj1der quote), Tiago is still being huge off the bench…. a very fulfilling win… and against a top-tier opponent, at that!
And I’m in the Top 10 among today’s posters!
Awesome day here in Cebu (imaginary tsunami and all that)

Holy shit. I just saw Splitters box score, he really went off.
alamobro - February 8, 2012
he could have rebounded more, but the way Bonner was controlling the boards, he did really well. Good D too.
anirontag - February 8, 2012
Splitt might never be a big rebounder, but if he keeps playing this efficiently, I dont give a carp.
alamobro - February 8, 2012
On a per 36 minute basis, Tim leads the team with 10.7, Tiago is second with 9.3, Blair 9.2, Leonard 7.4.
Alamo - February 8, 2012
Splitter always boxes out, he makes sure that the team gets the rebound
spursfan87 - February 8, 2012
Nice.
alamobro - February 8, 2012
Something Blair has no sense of doing.
grego21 - February 9, 2012
I don’t think Tiago’s been known for rebounding. He’s pretty good in boxing out though which helps his teammates in grabbing some boards.

Spurs Yoda - February 8, 2012 via mobile

ptcashion - February 9, 2012
I saw a stupid looking article about how the spurs need help on the front page of espn. It’s a part of that whole “Future Power Rankings” non sense, which is part of insider. I was hoping that somebody bold enough to ante up the dough to the evil empire could enlighten me what these basketball sages have in mind for trades we should make.
These people still think the spurs are old and need to make a trade to be competitive. I’ll tell you whats getting old, that whole “the spurs are too old crap.” We have three players older than 30 and a solid bench that contributes. What more do you want?

“You don’t see Kobe (Bryant) tweeting,” Perkins said, according to the report. “You don’t see Michael Jordan tweeting. If you’re an elite player, plays like that don’t excite you.”
I remember that Kevin Durant also tweet something about how cool was The block of manu
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hm9Y-vqZsEo
cuentaluis1 - February 8, 2012
It’s what Perkins said after or before that about the reason behind those texts. And IMO I feel that Perkins is right that Lebron does those kind of tweets to be liked by the public and to show what kind of humble, fun, and down to earth guy he could be (and he is). KD does it out of respect for his opponents.

In hilarious news: tickets for Saturday night start at 15 cents on StubHub right now. Will I be there for Return of Manu? Yes. Yes, I will.

Just one thing I want to get out (if it hasnt been mentioned yet): Splitter is a great rebounder….why? Because he is a graduate of the Oberto School of “BOXING OUT”. Heard that Blair? Bonner?

Great win tonight and what a confidence booster. I still don’t think we should bring Manu back until after the AS break. Also before everyone gets so excited about Manu coming back did anyone consider how rusty he’s going to be especially for not having played over a month and whose minutes is he going to take up? Manu’s not a point guard so he won’t replace Tony besides Tony’s still young.

Manu could score no field goals and still single handedly win the game for us. Green is like Manu-lite in this regard. Have you forgotten the OKC game in which manu didn’t score a field goal and won us the game? Besides, since he’s rusty, Pop will most likely make him come off the bench in his first few games (not saying that Pop won’t keep him there).
