Time for GG and Kai to duel each other. Both are never in the same game thread.

M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Spurs a scant 2 games behind the mighty, venerable and undefeatable Oklahoma Thunder.
alamobro - February 15, 2012
I forgot to mention supreme, also.
alamobro - February 15, 2012
Yeah. Too bad they just took the lead in Houston.
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Its only the 3rd quarter.
alamobro - February 15, 2012
Honestly, I’d prefer they end up with the 2nd seed. I’d bet money that the 1/8 and 4/5 matchups will be much tougher.
grego21 - February 16, 2012
hey, I got 15 in. Not bad. I can now think of meself as a reliable role player. Picked up a DNP the past few games, though
juanlefuego - February 15, 2012
Bahahaha people in Toronto shouting “MVP” at Matt Bonner.
Silly Canadians.
SpursCupcake - February 15, 2012
First Lin, then Bonner and Joseph. Can they have it any better, right now?

Man now I really want to be insane and drive to LA for the Clippers game Saturday..
I have a kind of bad feeling about it though. Especially if I do go…
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Where are you driving from?
jonasfunk - February 15, 2012
North of bay area… it’s 500 miles each way. Pretty long drive.
But my brother lives in LA…
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Go
gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012
+1
spursfan87 - February 15, 2012
You could drive up to Portland too. Probably about the same distance? I think I’m going to that game.
jonasfunk - February 15, 2012
Yeah I have a lot of friends in Portland. It’s 600 miles.
But there’s a chance I’ll be heading up that way at some point anyway..
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Thing is, if I don’t go to this game, not sure what Spurs game I might be able to see this year. They play the Warriors the final game of the season, but who knows if that will be a game worth seeing..
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
The Warriors have some great fans. I went to a game last year at the Oracle and it was great. It was the best seats I ever had in my life. Not to mention I got to meet Patrick Willis of my 49ers
gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012
Nice. Yeah I went to see us Spurs play them last season late November…
Best seats I’ve ever had too. Was just about 6 rows behind the Spurs bench in the corner section.
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
I wonder if you were that guy a few rows in front of me with the Spurs 4x champs custom jacket. : )
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Nah I wish I seen the Spurs play them. I am in the US Coast Guard currently in Alaska and while on leave I went to visit my homeboy who is stationed in San Francisco. So for his birthday I got us seats right behind the visitor bench when they played the Sixers right before christmas last season.
It was so much fun. We had Tony Battie dying laughing because we were talking so much trash about how well Spencer Hawes was playing. He turned around laughing and told us we were crazy. LOL. The place was pretty full to be playing a regular season game against a Sixer team who didn’t really start to gel yet.
gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012
Nice. Yeah I’ve had some fun there.
Also nearly got beat up a few years ago up in the nosebleed seats BY MYSELF in my Manu jersey when we blew them out by 30… damn gangsters tried to fuck with me and I had to stay real cool and just say peace while they spit their gum at me and knocked off my spurs hat.. they finally left and another guy says, “Hey Ginobili, you allright? You’re allright.”
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Ah yeah man Oakland cats are crazy about there sports teams. If you rooting for the other team you better roll deep or not wear a lot of there gear. I’ve been to a few Athletic’s games and there fans are crazy also. I refuse to go to a Raider game because I’m a 49er game.
gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012
I live in Monterey County, you pick me up on the way and we both go?

anirontag - February 15, 2012
Now that you mention that
Most turnovers in first five appearances: Jeremy Lin 30 turnovers
cuentaluis1 - February 15, 2012
We know that Jeremy Lin, with 136 points.
It is the player who scored the most his first five career starts, beating Shaq (129)

Lin – the most dominant ever?

gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012
If the Wolves had a competent wing they would be scary.
Edg5 - February 15, 2012
Yeah they need a good 2 or 3. Rubio is solid, Peckovic is solid and Love is great. When Beasley is hitting shots and not turning the ball over they are really scary
gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012
Derrick Williams in a year. Wes Johnson. That team has got some good young talent.
grego21 - February 16, 2012
D Williams in about a year with them will be super scary. Wes Johnson also. That team is pretty scary. Shit!

Hell no. His defense is worse than Blairs. i watched that game versus the Lakers and he was like a matador out there. Not to mention he does the same thing Bonner does with worse rebounding and defensive skills
gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012
I agree, but thats how disappointed I’m with Blair.
spursfan87 - February 15, 2012
Oh, okay. Well damn you are really disappointed. LOL
gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012
I think I’d take the chance though. Blair’s versatility on the Spurs is limited. I’d bet money that Blair would have a much better career elsewhere. He just doesn’t fit the Spurs well.
grego21 - February 16, 2012
NJ hanging on up 1.. but they’re a lottery team so they’ll probably intentionally lose in the last couple mins.
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Anthony Davis, the real deal?
spursfan87 - February 15, 2012
Hell yeah. He needs to gain some muscle mass, shave that unibrow and get his grill fixed but the boy can ball
gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012

spursfan87 - February 15, 2012

gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012
Josh, I hate to be front-page watchdog, but now the quickcap is doubled.
DrumsInTheDeep - February 15, 2012
So I forget who but someone brought up who the best guards are earlier. Said they’d take 2 over Parker, and 2 others on par.
Which ones?
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Ok I found the post…
Gunnin’ says Chris Paul, D. Williams, and Rose above Parker.
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
I think Rondo is up there, along with Rose, maybe Paul and maybe D. Williams.
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Westbrook before Rondo for me.
Edg5 - February 15, 2012
can’t mess with Rondo. I mean you can’t trust him to handle the ball at the end of the game due to piss poor shooting. Not to mention he looks great due to who he is playing with. I’m not saying Rondo is a scrub but I just don’t think he would be looked at that favorable if he didn’t play with 3 hall of famers
gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012
Maybe true.
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
I think Rondo sometimes gets overrated, but he’s not a scrub. He’s still in the top 10. Probably near the top 5. I have to think about it. I guess it depends if you consider Rose a PG or a 2 guard.
grego21 - February 16, 2012
That was me. I’d take Paul or Rose right now. I think Parker is on par with Westbrook and Williams, and I think he’s better than current-day Nash (though not in-his-prime Nash)
TexaninNYC - February 15, 2012
I’m not so into Westbrook. He seems to not have the right temperment or something.
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
He is too careless with the damn ball and he seems out to prove he is as good as people say he is which is a huge problem in my book.
It makes me laugh how people say just because his numbers favor D. Rose that they are similar. Rose is pretty much option 1,2 and 3 for the Bulls on offense and he doesn’t turn the ball over as much as Westbrook who has the league leader in fucking scoring not to mention a very good player in Harden.
Westbrook to me is a fuck up! I apologize for the bad language
gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012
Yeah you said it a lot better just how I feel about him.
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
LOL
I mean if Westbrook figures out to trust his teammates and not to try and prove anything then he is going to be great. But can and will he do that? I hope so because i’m always rooting for the young guys to do well on and off the court. Especially if they aren’t total jerks
gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012
Westbrook is still very young. He’s on the right team though. OKC, like the Spurs are built to mold players into winning. Now that Russel has his contract, he might not be in such a rush to prove things. He even took less to help the team. That shows some maturity there.
Give him time. he’s still new to the PG position, as he came into UCLA as a 2 guard.
grego21 - February 16, 2012
He’ll get better. I think he’ll be at the top of the league in a little while. Yes, I have some bias being at UCLA and being there when he was a Bruin. But Presti is damn smart. Westbrook would be a Spur if Spurs had that draft position and Presti was still wiht the team.

gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012
C’s still need every win they can get to stay afloat. Detroit will be in the lottery again.
Ed (dfjmed) - February 15, 2012
Pistons got some building blocks though. Monroe is pretty solid and if the young point guard can figure out how to be a point guard that is a plus also. Stuckey is solid and I like Jonas Jerebko a lot
gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012
Rondo with 35pts, 6 assists, 5 rebounds. And 4-9 from the line.
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Note to self: Hack-a-Rondo!
TrooperJoe73 - February 15, 2012
Josh Guyer (completely deck) - February 15, 2012
Anyone watching Rockets?
Stupid Parsons (I think?) just tried to dunk it instead of laying it in and missed.
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Wow he’s a 30% FT shooter??
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
should be a spur
spursfan87 - February 15, 2012
no thanks. LOL. I know you mean his foul shooting is Spur like though.
gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012
He’s shooting 30% from the line. Wow.
Edg5 - February 15, 2012
1pt game.. and I really need to get going.
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Mavs are probly gonna win tonight.
Ed (dfjmed) - February 15, 2012
meh
spursfan87 - February 15, 2012
Peace out!
TrooperJoe73 - February 15, 2012
Night
Edg5 - February 15, 2012
All the people complaining about the starting line up need to look at the minutes. Blair is barely even getting minutes and Pop is playing Tiago way more the last few games. It doesn’t matter who starts it’s who is actually getting minutes and the all important minutes in crunch time
gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012
No complaints here. I’m actually worried about what happens to Blair’s confidence.
silverandblack_davis - February 15, 2012
I think that is why Blair has continued to start. They trying to keep his confidence up and also see how he fairs against the starters early.
gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012
I thought he played a good game vs. Detroit. But I guess even in Blair’s best day, Tiago’s still better.
silverandblack_davis - February 15, 2012
I like that everybody’s on to the Knicks’ 7-game win streak, while completely ignoring the Spurs’ longer 9-game winning run.
silverandblack_davis - February 15, 2012
Against much more credible teams (except NJ, TOR), if I may add.
silverandblack_davis - February 15, 2012
One word: Linsanity
Edg5 - February 15, 2012
Sportscasters love names that make for silly names. It’s why Tyrann Mathieu was so popular depsite not even being the best cornerback on that team.
TexaninNYC - February 15, 2012
I hate all the Lin puns. Hate them.
Edg5 - February 15, 2012
How about Lindemonium?
spursfan87 - February 15, 2012
Linoleum is the only one I like
Edg5 - February 15, 2012
They liked him more for the big plays with special teams and the turnovers for TD’s he had. The other cat Claiborne wasn’t as flashy and way more consistent. You know ESPN is always looking for high lights
gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012
I know that was a big part of it, but I seriously think he got more attention than he would/should have otherwise because of the Honey Badger thing.
TexaninNYC - February 15, 2012
The NY is the hottest team in the league
spursfan87 - February 15, 2012
Who ARE these Spurs?
Ed (dfjmed) - February 15, 2012
probably a D-League team
spursfan87 - February 15, 2012
Just a bunch of old guys.
TexaninNYC - February 15, 2012
Some soccer team filled with floppers.
silverandblack_davis - February 15, 2012
Spurs need at least 15 wins AND a NY loss for that to happen.
DrumsInTheDeep - February 15, 2012
It is like the Tebow thing, all they talk was about Tebow, even tough the Packers were flirting with an undefeated season
spursfan87 - February 15, 2012
The difference being Lin is pretty good at his sport.
TexaninNYC - February 15, 2012
He’s really more of a Kurt Warner
DrumsInTheDeep - February 15, 2012
Honestly, it reminds me a LOT of Romo’s first season. Knicks better hope that’s not the case.
TexaninNYC - February 15, 2012
Yup
spursfan87 - February 15, 2012
Oh come on, Spurs are the #4 story on Sportscenter, behind “Lin”, “NBA invite for Lin?” and “Run like Tim Tebow”.
This is exactly why I will never care if the Spurs get “media love”. I’ll take the wins, others can take the circus sideshows.
FrankWyt - February 15, 2012
Spurs would have it no other way. I wouldn’t either. Lin is an awesome story though. It’s almost like a “role model” story. In this case, I’m more than happy with it. It’s the story the NBA needed after the lockout to be honest.
I hate the Knicks, and wish Lin was elsewhere, but it is an awesome story. Although NY is the best team to get the story out there.
grego21 - February 16, 2012
Houston goes back up 1.
24 secs left.. OKC with a chance for a buzzer beater win.
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Off HOuston
Ed (dfjmed) - February 15, 2012
Don’t they still have a foul to give?
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Thunder to the line???
Ed (dfjmed) - February 15, 2012
Oh my god.. why foul?
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Or did they foul before shot??
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Before.
Edg5 - February 15, 2012
Nope.
Edg5 - February 15, 2012
No fouls for Houston….
Ed (dfjmed) - February 15, 2012
The Rockets can’t get a defensive board.
Edg5 - February 15, 2012
I love these games when they arent the Spurs.
Ed (dfjmed) - February 15, 2012
No heart attacks!
grego21 - February 16, 2012
Nevermind, it was before shot. Smart foul!
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Durantula missed!!!
Ed (dfjmed) - February 15, 2012
You’re way ahead of me!
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
NICE OKC loses.
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Oh it’s not over yet… lol
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Durant had about 4 chances to make it.. missed them all.
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Wow my man said The Rockets would win and he looks like he was right
gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012
Heck yeah!
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Thunder lose, Spurs win!
Ed (dfjmed) - February 15, 2012
Awesome night.
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Rockets win. What an upset!Who could have predicted that?
Edg5 - February 15, 2012
Nice one!
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
I guess you didn’t need the gas X i suggested but I will need some hot sauce to eat that crow. LOL. Good call man
gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012
I know the lotto numbers too, but I’m not telling.
Edg5 - February 15, 2012
Goodnight all!
M3D1T8R - February 15, 2012
Later
gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012
Night
Edg5 - February 15, 2012
well colour me impressed. the spurs managed to beat two of the bottom teams in the east….just. way to go.
/sarcastic clap
sleep research facility - February 15, 2012
LOL
gunnin' gervin - February 15, 2012
Even when we win, We Suck™
DrumsInTheDeep - February 15, 2012
HEY, we deserve to beat up on some patsies once in awhile. The Heat and Bulls have it too easy.
silverandblack_davis - February 15, 2012
Kevin Martin scores 30 every time I see him play, it seems. I know he’s a no-Defense type of guy… but damn.
Ed (dfjmed) - February 15, 2012
You dont pay enough attention. He goes either for 30 points or 2 points. A streaky player, specially this season
Chilai - February 15, 2012
1.5 games out of 1st in the West.
Ed (dfjmed) - February 15, 2012
I dont want to be in first place again, bad mojo
spursfan87 - February 15, 2012
Yea, I agree. If we win the Southwest and have HC, I’ll still be pleased with that.
Ed (dfjmed) - February 15, 2012
They also will have a tougher schedule in the 1/8 matchup and 4/5 if they make the second unit.
grego21 - February 16, 2012
HEY! WE PULLED THAT ROAD RECORD TO .500!!!
DrumsInTheDeep - February 15, 2012
BUT THE KNICKS ARE BACK TO .500!!!
spursfan87 - February 15, 2012
Lin with another double double, NY wins 7 straight > Tim Duncan who? Tony Parker? 9 straight wins?
Ed (dfjmed) - February 15, 2012
The Mavs are destroying the Nuggets.
Edg5 - February 15, 2012
They’re back to being a contender. I hate it but that’s the truth.
silverandblack_davis - February 15, 2012
Last time we saw them in the playoffs it ended ok.
TexaninNYC - February 15, 2012
Their depth is scary, and Dirk is going to be Dirk in the playoff. Right now Dirk is just bored, but once the real games start he’s going to be back.
spursfan87 - February 15, 2012
The shortened season is perfect for Half-Man, Half-a-Season.
silverandblack_davis - February 15, 2012
Their defense is good. I thought they were going to fall apart without Chandler but they are doing well.
Edg5 - February 15, 2012
Yup. It also means that Rick Carlisle has indeed risen to a really great level in terms of coaching. That guy is a master at juggling lineups.
silverandblack_davis - February 15, 2012
He proved that last year; the Heat completely out-talented the Mavs and they won by playing smart.
TexaninNYC - February 15, 2012
I’m even more impressed with what he’s doing this year. Losing Chandler was supposed to be huge, but they’ve managed to overcome it.
silverandblack_davis - February 15, 2012
I have a lot of respect for him since the year of the Brawl in the Palace. He kept the Pacers focus even without their 3 best players for most of the season, and they made the playoff.
spursfan87 - February 15, 2012
He has been pretty great since his Detroit days. he got shoved aside for Coach Brown, but I think they would have been there with Rick.
grego21 - February 16, 2012
I think chandler’s importance will show up more in the post season. that said Carlisle is one of the most underrated coaches. He was in Detroit, even when they fired him.
grego21 - February 16, 2012
Spurs Yoda - February 15, 2012
LMAO
alamobro - February 16, 2012

alamobro - February 16, 2012

alamobro - February 16, 2012
Yea, that game’s over.
Ed (dfjmed) - February 15, 2012
Clips – Wizards is starting. But that one’s going to be over in the 1st quarter.
Edg5 - February 15, 2012
ESPN has Blazers and W’s. Nice to the W’s get a W.
Ed (dfjmed) - February 15, 2012
hah
they are going to be there fighting for that 8th spot
spursfan87 - February 15, 2012
They might! I did not realize Portland had dropped to 9th.
Ed (dfjmed) - February 15, 2012
Portland, Utah, Minnesota and Golden State are fighting for that spot. I just hope that the Wolves dont be in the playoff
spursfan87 - February 15, 2012
The Clips botched a 4 on 0 fastbreak. Deandre Jordan Blatche’d and open dunk.
Edg5 - February 15, 2012
Okc lost. HAH.
alamobro - February 15, 2012
LIN-SANITY!! KOBE WHO!!!!?
Spurs Yoda - February 15, 2012
Not much makes me happier than seeing Kobe get punched.
The Calvinator - February 15, 2012

alamobro - February 16, 2012

Ayatollah - February 16, 2012
Duncan couldnt extend his double-double streak. Trade him.
theonlyromeo - February 15, 2012
And Parker. Spurs can get Dwight Howard for them two!
grego21 - February 16, 2012
