I havent seen Humphries play, but I have heard he doesnt bother to defend anyone.
Brandon Bass would work great on the Spurs. He has a good mid range shot and rebounds decently.He would be a good replacement if the Spurs let Dejuan Blair go.

That is not a great list. Very few are interested and even fewer will deserve the contract some other team will throw at them.
One important thing to keep in mind: We should only consider unrestricted FA’s or players that are going to opt-out of their final year. Most restricted FA’s are matched, at least the ones that are worth it. Also, there are quiet a few that are far from what the Spurs are looking for. I would cut the list down to this:
Garnett. 5 years too late but still would awesome next to Duncan and Tiago.
Humphries. I haven’t seen him play a lot but I’ve heard mixed comments of him. I’m almost sure he won’t be worth whatever is that the market would end up paying him.
Martin. For the right price and depending on how he plays this season, which would be mutually exclusive.
Landry. Another undersized big?
Turiaf. Maybe the most reasonable bet since he would be relatively cheap and great as a 3-5 big in the rotation.
Diaw. For the right price and weight.
Amundson. 2 years ago I would have thought he was perfect for the Spurs. Even perfect-er if he would be 2 inches taller and could hit the midrange J.
Mahinmi. Again? Yes. He would be cheap and would know the system.
Clark. Heard great things about him but I don’t know him enough.
Ivan Johnson. Never heard of him until a few weeks ago. Seems to hustle and shoot well
Elson. Decent veteran who can do almost everything from average to good.

A couple of these are already available due to being waived, whether they’re worth much consideration or not. Caracter has been waived by the Lakers. For the most part I don’t get excited about bidding for a restricted free agent when he will most likely resign with his present team. A number of the unrestricted look either too old or overpriced. Would Carl Landry be worth $10M? I picked Beasley, who may have some issues with him but I’d think he may be falling out of the TWolves plans. If they’re already currently willing to part with Randolph in a reasonable trade then it may turn out the PF position is less of an issue.

That’s what I’m thinking as well. He’s mainly been playing SF for Minny, but I think he’d be able to play either spot. He’s still young at 23, I’m not sure he’s currently a good fit as far as basketball IQ but he has a fair amount of talent. Might get too much attention from other teams willing to overpay, but he seems the athletic type of “big” that might help the Spurs.

I would be intrigued to see Timmy and Garnett playing together. Ian Mahinmi looks awfully cheap, but he’ll probably look for much higher paycheck. I used to like Diaw. But, yeah, we still have a season to finish and hopefully playoffs, then we can reassess our needs.May be more interesting question, if we can bring some decent big in to help us this year.

KG is easily the best non-Timmeh member of that group. Even the current version of KG… so that tells you just about everything there is to know about the free agent PF talent pool this year. However, the draft has a TON of available talent at the 4, so we might be able to take advantage of the trade market for a good deal from teams who find themselves stacked at the position.

After about a dozen years in Minnesota having left to pursue a championship, I don’t know that KG would mind changing teams again if he felt he could get a 2nd ring out of it, especially if it means making up some ground on TD or Kobe. The question would be where could he sign that might give him the opportunity that could pay him even 1/2 of what he’s making now? He could consider signing for less with the Spurs or the Lakers for a chance at a ring, but he’d still be trailing Tim and Kobe by the same margin. Chicago maybe?

The Bulls would become defensive monster if it happens. Not that KG is an elite defender anymore, but the guy he would replace it’s Boozer and that is huge upgrade (assuming both bench bigs stay in Chicago which is doubtful).
