They don’t seem to like to give it to a coach that’s won it before. I think Hubie Brown being the most recent, with 26 years in between. Throw in the additional factor of a coach winning with the same team and you have to go back to Don Nelson winning with the Bucks twice in the mid-80’s. Pop could lead the Spurs to the championship, and Del Negro receive the award due to him not having won before and the Clippers having improved this year.
