sleep research facility - January 7, 2012
In celebration of Danny, I propose that every comment be made Green.
Tim C. - January 7, 2012
lets do this.
sleep research facility - January 7, 2012
green me
polartownjunkie - January 7, 2012
We tried to do this the other day, but it was just Hipucks, SinCitySpur and myself. Needless to say, it didn’t work.
Edg5 - January 7, 2012
I need a recount
hurts2bgood - January 7, 2012
Greens stat line is crazy, you guys should look at it.
alamobro - January 7, 2012
witnessed it
hurts2bgood - January 7, 2012
I can’t wait to see AG’s stats for the game.
grego21 - January 7, 2012
More Manuesque than RJ’s from the previous game.
Tim C. - January 7, 2012
You and I will look good for praising Green in the offseason.
alamobro - January 7, 2012
I’ve been saying it since he was first signed. :)
grego21 - January 7, 2012
Well, not many people were. I was impressed when I saw him play against the Suns in Phoenix last year.
alamobro - January 7, 2012
Yeah. He was pretty good in limitutes last year.
grego21 - January 7, 2012
*limutes.
alamobro - January 7, 2012
Wow, my spelling!
grego21 - January 7, 2012
I think I like “limitutes” better
SleepCrack - January 7, 2012 via mobile
And yeah, no one thought much about him. If they had seen him at UNC, they might think differently.
grego21 - January 7, 2012
His advanced stats were off the charts last season, and he passed the eyeball test. I love that he’s actually proving that wasn’t a fluke.
Tim C. - January 7, 2012
He was solid in the games when Duncan was out last year. He just needed a chance, and he finally got one. But hey, even the coaching staff was mixed, so yeah. That hurt him a little bit.
grego21 - January 7, 2012
33 minutes for Green tonight.
day_late_friend - January 7, 2012
Seemed like he never left the floor in the 2nd half.
silverandblack_davis - January 7, 2012

Victory dance!
KD1 - January 7, 2012
Once more...
DrumsInTheDeep - January 7, 2012
let’s paint the world Green!
TDzilla! - January 7, 2012
You know RJ’s game is different when you saw him fake the pass on the 2pt jumper and take the shot. Didn’t make, but it was a confident fake pass and shot.
grego21 - January 7, 2012
hes a new man, gottas keep him head strong

He’s in Shameless, unless he doubles in DA as well…
grego21 - January 7, 2012
I was making a joke.
DrumsInTheDeep - January 7, 2012
Taking the “I am sick” defense.

Green + RJ = 43 pts
grego21 - January 7, 2012

polartownjunkie - January 7, 2012
The Saints offense is Greenesque
CapHill - January 7, 2012
Drew Brees = Danny Green
DrumsInTheDeep - January 7, 2012
I know we don’t like shootouts, but any win against a good team without Manu is fine by me.
Edg5 - January 7, 2012
I like shootouts every once in a while.
KD1 - January 7, 2012
They did drive when they could.
grego21 - January 7, 2012
So far, LWM hasn’t been too painful.
CapHill - January 7, 2012

Manu-20 - January 7, 2012
you alls are something special, PTOWN OUT!
polartownjunkie - January 7, 2012
Since Green, RJ and Ford are getting good praise, it is worth noting that Leonard has some nice impact on the game. Watch out for this… :)
grego21 - January 7, 2012
While his stats haven’t looked good while his shot isn’t falling, Anderson still looked pretty good in his few minutes on the court. He’ll definitely be well rested for the OKC game, so if others are showing fatigue he might start looking a bit Green himself.
Alamo - January 8, 2012
This thread needs this:

Ayatollah - January 7, 2012
Love your quote.. ;)
Team Stark!
grego21 - January 7, 2012

Ayatollah - January 7, 2012
I think Arya is my favorite Starkie, but all of them are pretty lovable.
grego21 - January 7, 2012
She’s my favorite, too. She’s like Debbie Gallagher(somewhat badass yet so adorable).
Ayatollah - January 7, 2012
Of course it does.

Joe deLarios - January 7, 2012
Hmm, the Thunder have a terrible differential (2.4)
alamobro - January 7, 2012
Miami is easily the best team in the League at the moment. They are 8 and 1 with a differential of 12.
alamobro - January 7, 2012
I’d argue Portland or OKC as their opponents are a little bit stronger. But, they do beat the pants off those eastern terms.
grego21 - January 7, 2012
I dont believe for a millisecond that OKC is better than Miami, they may have a tougher schedule, but their diff is utter crap compared to Miami, and even San Antonio (6.9)
alamobro - January 7, 2012
been so many blowouts this season. i think point differential is going to be a weird stat…
sleep research facility - January 7, 2012
I don’t think pt differential is useful yet. I think there are too few games, and with the crazy schedule, i don’t think its fully useful, just yet.
I do think Miami will be better than they were last season by the middle of the season though.
grego21 - January 7, 2012
I think one of Miami’s problems may be that they pretty much rely on the 3 Amigos putting in heavy minutes, yet all three have somewhat of a history of being injury prone. They have to depend on the timing of their injuries, since I wouldn’t expect them to get far in the playoffs if one of them are hurting.
Alamo - January 8, 2012
Then again, its a very small sample size this early in the season.
alamobro - January 7, 2012
I think that along with the back-back-back and common 4 games in 5 nights also helps that issue a little bit.
grego21 - January 7, 2012
Greenobili!!!
TDzilla! - January 7, 2012

Danny Green in a green jersey with a green background. Greentastic.
Manu ex Machina - January 7, 2012
It’s all Green!
grego21 - January 7, 2012
Splitter leading the team in +/- with +10. D.Green at +2 while RJ was -9. Wut.
silverandblack_davis - January 7, 2012
wow…RJ a bit unfairly done by +/- there. guess he was on the court when the nuggets closed the gap.
sleep research facility - January 7, 2012
the +/- needs some serious tuning to be taken seriously
Joe deLarios - January 7, 2012
Si, si. His time on the court (second behind Green?) sagged his plus-minus down.
juanlefuego - January 7, 2012
AG’s stats support Green being super solid.
Remember, +/- can be deceptive.
grego21 - January 7, 2012
ill get it out in the morning…g’night fellas

Josh Guyer (completely deck) - January 7, 2012
No Matt Bonner in the 2nd half?
spursfan87 - January 7, 2012
Pop went a lot of small ball with 3 wings or 2 pgs. I was shocked when I saw Blair as the only big for some time though.
grego21 - January 7, 2012
Blair was the big that close the game instead of Duncan

Awesome win, everybody. Both teams fought for that one. Great to see so many guys on the Spurs step up and perform in crunch time.
quincyscott - January 7, 2012
Green won it? Yay.
LatinD - January 7, 2012
RJ, Green, Ford were all solid. Blair was pretty good also.
Green had a career game though.
grego21 - January 7, 2012
Awful D, though, eh?
LatinD - January 7, 2012
Who? Blair? Yes. I’d say it’s a win if you at least get the offensive production out of Blair. It’s better than seeing all his crazy post shots that clank or his 5 foot chip shots.
I was shocked to see him play the big in the small ball unit, but it is the first night of back-to-backs.
grego21 - January 7, 2012
So, I’m guessing Green had a good game, eh?
Big50 - January 7, 2012
Green’ s stats: 24 pts, 7 rebs, 2 stls, 2 blks in 33 mins of play. :)
bluesteelxvii - January 7, 2012
and 2 assists
bluesteelxvii - January 7, 2012
Green rocked that shiz, as did RJ 3.1
SleepCrack - January 7, 2012 via mobile
Yes, I’m going to say it, but RJ has been the Spurs most consistent player of the season!
grego21 - January 7, 2012
telling the truth is easy and pleasant
Kondor - January 7, 2012
So far, I agree that he is…for now.
bluesteelxvii - January 7, 2012
He’s different this year. I’d bet on that. Yep.
grego21 - January 7, 2012
he’s usually the most consistent player of the post-season as well.
the little o - January 8, 2012
As a whole, they all played well. Kudos to Pop for a well balanced distribution of minutes. Everybody knows his role.
bluesteelxvii - January 7, 2012
does anybody know if there is a recording of this game somewhere? LP refuses to show it to me because of “geographical restrictions”.
Kondor - January 7, 2012
Spurs are 3-0 without Manu. I guess they don’t need Manu anymore and that he was holding us down the whole time :).
GoSpurs09 - January 7, 2012
we should trade him and get somebody good like Agent Zero or AI
Kondor - January 7, 2012
No, we should get Cousins! He’s a franchise player, since he got his coached fired!
grego21 - January 7, 2012
True. We need someone to punch our lazy players and to fire our inadequate coaches.
Kondor - January 8, 2012
On the Spurs? There’s no one lazy on the Spurs. Maybe last season, when Blair put on some lbs…
grego21 - January 8, 2012
This is, perhaps, the coolest thing that’s ever happened here. Also, I picked up Danny Green for my fantasy on my cell while watching the game with 8 other guys in my league. THEY WERE PISSED. YES!
Fred Silva - January 8, 2012
Not sure what you did, but everything below your comment is italicized, ::tries to fix it::
Tim C. - January 8, 2012
What I miss??
MikeyKosa - January 8, 2012
Oh man, tough injury for OKC. They just lost Maynor, for probably a good amount of time.
It’s in the NBA.com highlights
grego21 - January 8, 2012
3 cheers for Green!
GREEN!
GREEN!
GREEN!
eastbaysd - January 8, 2012
What do you think of Danny Green’s awesome performance, Kermie?
Yeah, me too.
eastbaysd - January 8, 2012
Interesting stats…
grego21 - January 8, 2012
Although Paul Pierce has missed games. That’s crazy.
silverandblack_davis - January 8, 2012
Aw, nothing controversial about that block. The refs had been swallowing their whistles all game, for both teams. Denver gets to the line a lot, and they sort of feel entitled about it. George Karl has a lot to do with that.
quincyscott - January 8, 2012 via mobile
the stiffs are all mad about the refs, i just can’t see how the refs are trying to help the spurs win if the opposing team gets 8 more free throw attempts…
Starscream210 - January 8, 2012 via mobile
Stiffs fans have never struck me as too sharp when it comes to observing basketball. I know that sounds harsh but they complain about officiating more than any other fans base I’ve read, and usually with inaccuracy.
SpurredOn - January 8, 2012
Foul or not, those are the breaks of the game. No ref also probably didn’t have a clear view of the play, given how fast it happened.
silverandblack_davis - January 8, 2012
Agreed. I think you deserve a Rec for this comment.
quincyscott - January 8, 2012 via mobile
Wow
Green is winning me over quickly, I hope he continues to play solid. He showed the whole package last night. He played solid defense, hit pull up jump shots, hit his open shots and even drove to the hoop nicely.
Grego 21 so far you were right about Green and I have to give you props.
gunnin' gervin - January 8, 2012
He is a gamer. Makes up for his not overwhelming speed with his length, court vision, and anticipation. Hit some big shots calmly. Pop’s praise of him last night after the game was about as effusive as you will ever hear from Gregg Popovich.
quincyscott - January 8, 2012
Pop called him “an NBA player”. He must be thinking high of the guy. Wait, is it even a compliment?
Kondor - January 8, 2012
For Pop, that’s like giving him a medal.
quincyscott - January 8, 2012
Awww, so cute… :)
