In the 666 - January 4, 2012
I saw this episode of Futurama last night that… reminded me of you…
::swoon::
Iullaby - January 4, 2012
YES
hurts2bgood - January 4, 2012
Life without Manu Ginobili: 1—0
anirontag - January 4, 2012
Wow, Ford and Jamnesty, really solid and efficient on the stat sheet.
alamobro - January 4, 2012
Green was super solid as well. I was really pissed when I saw Neal come in instead of green in the first half, but it worked out well in the second half.
Neal was just horrid on D.
grego21 - January 5, 2012
that was hugely satisfying. and i’m out for the morning/afternoon/night (delete where appropriate).
sleep research facility - January 4, 2012
Ford started the come back, green got the hint, TP finished it
hurts2bgood - January 4, 2012
Spurs Win!!!!
spursfan87 - January 4, 2012
Green is the hero of today, but Ford and RJ really deserve some props.
I don’t know how I’m going to be able to sleep now.
Bakkie009 - January 4, 2012
Dont forget the ole man with a double double
hurts2bgood - January 4, 2012
Right, that guy also.
Bakkie009 - January 4, 2012
the fans love that
polartownjunkie - January 4, 2012
Plus 3 blocks and 3 steals.
day_late_friend - January 4, 2012
and 1 Tech
hurts2bgood - January 4, 2012
The old man got mad tonight.
Edg5 - January 4, 2012
Word to the league………….DO NOT PIST TD OFF
hurts2bgood - January 4, 2012
Green has been solid even in his limited appearances last year. Yes, I’ve been a Green homer, but..
Also have supported Ford and RJ too. :)
grego21 - January 5, 2012
RJ played his part fools, green brings D too
polartownjunkie - January 4, 2012
Green = Aflalo lite?
the little o - January 4, 2012
Agreed
Manu ex Machina - January 4, 2012
He’s the Spurs best defender. He can defend 3 positions.
grego21 - January 5, 2012
DANNY MOTHER FCKING GREEN
Manu-20 - January 4, 2012
maybe that was a bit to over the top how about Danny green proven his is a nba player and completley shut down ellise
Manu-20 - January 4, 2012
that too
hurts2bgood - January 4, 2012
What about Green Lantern?
mission20 - January 4, 2012
I like it.
Bakkie009 - January 4, 2012
I got one guy! Come on people! haha
mission20 - January 4, 2012
This would be more appropriate had the movie not been a bust, but here it is anyway.
alamobro - January 4, 2012
The lantern?
Sh!fty - January 4, 2012
Yea, the Green Lantern movie sucked. Too bad, such a timeless and cool character.
alamobro - January 4, 2012
really?
isn’t his weakness the color yellow?
I have a hard time taking a super hero seriously who is weakened by a color
Duby Dub Dubs - January 5, 2012
The Green Lantern comic series gets pretty esoteric for a story about a man with a jewelry fixation.
That said, it’s one of those things that starts to make a bit more sense when in context — but that doesn’t make it easier to sell to the masses.
J.R. Wilco - January 5, 2012
The ‘green’ and ‘yellow’ are metaphors and I believe much later in the storyline, they equate ‘yellow’ with fear.
The whole green lantern power thing is predicated on mental toughness. So even though yellow is a weakness for the average lantern, the strongest mind of them is able to conquer it and thus any fears. In one edition when Bats (Batman) gets to wear a ring, he was the strongest of them all coz as we all know Bats is just cool like that.
Lantern is part of the Justic League etc and he is more than just an Earth hero. He is pretty cool :)
I just had to defend the Lantern core.
LionZion - January 5, 2012
Yeah Green Lantern. Danny Green ha
mission20 - January 4, 2012
Yeah looks good!
mission20 - January 4, 2012
That Manu guy was holding the team back, I think. We’ll go 60-0 without him.
Edg5 - January 4, 2012
i was thinking 59
hurts2bgood - January 4, 2012
I’m thinking 69
Hipuks - January 4, 2012
TWSS
SinCitySpur - January 4, 2012
Broham! Where were you during the game?
Hipuks - January 4, 2012
I’m thinking, he was thinking 69
hurts2bgood - January 4, 2012
Got home late, didn’t want to interrupt the flow of the thread with my asinine comments. I’m here now, all is good, broseph.
SinCitySpur - January 4, 2012
But… you can’t rep the ‘Tone if you don’t join in!
silverandblack_davis - January 4, 2012
In the 666 - January 4, 2012
Whoa, it’s the dude from Fern Gully
Iullaby - January 4, 2012
ha!
In the 666 - January 4, 2012
Pfft, I can rep the tone in my sleep, bromeo. I’m all about repping The Tone. I’m like the Encyclopedia Brotanica
SinCitySpur - January 4, 2012
I clearly wasn’t thinking
Edg5 - January 4, 2012
c’mon, 68 (& she owes you one)
In the 666 - January 4, 2012
(fail, that was for hippy)
In the 666 - January 4, 2012
No problem, I understood.
Hipuks - January 4, 2012
GREEN MACHINE!!!
In the 666 - January 4, 2012
::cheer::
Iullaby - January 4, 2012
is it a coincidence that the pic on the post is that of Curry falling down?
the little o - January 4, 2012
We might have to win this way all season long. One guy stepping up. Today it was Green, tomorrow it might be Anderson. This is how we have to play.
bj1der - January 4, 2012
Yeah. Tonight I thought Anderson and Neal would have to make big contributions, but Green came up huge.
quincyscott - January 4, 2012
I thought Green should have been ahead and still should be ahead of Neal. He can shoot and play D, as evident. I really shouldn’t be lazy and not finish my articles. Damn beng sick!
grego21 - January 5, 2012
You sound like Sean Elliott after the win. He said the exact same thing, the exact same way
gunnin' gervin - January 4, 2012
My ankle still hurts from watching Curry do that Phantom Step… gaaaah
Iullaby - January 4, 2012
Timmeh – the angry young man
Galfusica - January 4, 2012
RJ with a +21 for the game!
Galfusica - January 4, 2012
Matty only played 16 minutes and did not lead the team in +/-.
That’s about right.
CapHill - January 4, 2012
I like that after missing 2 three-point attempts, Pop pulled him out. He went back in only when Timmy needed to rest.
day_late_friend - January 4, 2012
Now for the hard part; trying to get some sleep.
Goodnight guys, this was a good win.
Bakkie009 - January 4, 2012
I feel the same way.
indiancharlie - January 4, 2012
Good night man.
SweetGreen dreamsEdg5 - January 4, 2012
green dreaming
polartownjunkie - January 4, 2012
RJ is pretty good right now
doubleteapot - January 4, 2012
He really deserves a lot of credit for his work with the 2nd unit too.
CapHill - January 4, 2012
Well I’m exhausted. Night, y’all.

indiancharlie - January 4, 2012
So this Danny Green guy is good, yes?
SinCitySpur - January 4, 2012
Meh.
Queness - January 4, 2012
Better than Bonner?
SinCitySpur - January 4, 2012
Green is better than ginger.
Hipuks - January 4, 2012
red & green are complimentary colors, coincidentally…
In the 666 - January 4, 2012
I’ve been saying it. Same with Ford…. Oh and RJ ain’t half bad either which I’ve been saying!
grego21 - January 5, 2012
Andrew is interviewing the Greenmachine and he speaks English and is smart to boot.
indiancharlie - January 4, 2012
Product of UNC.
grego21 - January 5, 2012
I’m like extra proud of my “Keep It Green” welcome mat right now.
Iullaby - January 4, 2012
im gonna kneed one of those
polartownjunkie - January 4, 2012
good night fellas… starting to work now!
Galfusica - January 4, 2012
Good night man.

spursfan87 - January 4, 2012
Spurs win!!! Sorry for the delay! I was to busy running throug the streets screaming, Warriors come OUT AND PLAYYYYYYAAAAAAA!

J.R. Wilco - January 5, 2012
they just got served!…
In the 666 - January 4, 2012
After all this running, Spurs will probably be too tired tomorrow!
SanAntonioGiant - January 4, 2012
Please look for a trade
tony parker and tiago splitter…..get anybody in return….i cant believe we pulled out this win even with those two shooting and missing half the time
catsdaddy - January 4, 2012
Panic much?
alamobro - January 4, 2012
no ive felt this way even over the summer…i liked the way ford runs the team over parker….parker and splitter for a quality big…..splitter is HORRIBLE
catsdaddy - January 4, 2012
Meh, hes not horrible, hes pretty solid though I admit I was expecting more from him. Still alot of Ball to be played this season.
alamobro - January 4, 2012
you know i would be ok if he concentrated on defense only but its embarrasing when he tries to put moves on somebody
catsdaddy - January 4, 2012
I cant deny, you would think he would be more polished with his overseas credentials. =L
alamobro - January 4, 2012
On D his fundamentals are great. On offense, not so much.
Edg5 - January 4, 2012
Huh?
doubleteapot - January 4, 2012
I agree. A single game is enough to evaluate players. Let’s trade both and a first rounder for Monta Ellis, who was hitting his shots today.
Edg5 - January 4, 2012
We would surely scorch the league with Monta at the two. I say Ginobili straight across for Monta Ellis.
alamobro - January 4, 2012
Warriors front office
is calling to confirm right now.
I hope Manu likes sunny California
Duby Dub Dubs - January 5, 2012
and sign Arenas in the process
spursfan87 - January 4, 2012
Of course. With Gil and Monta as your guards, the sky is the limit. I like the way you guys think alamobro and spursfan87.
Edg5 - January 4, 2012
Duck! It’s a duck!
SinCitySpur - January 4, 2012
Ha ha.
quincyscott - January 4, 2012 via mobile
Tony was the leading scorer tonight!
Spurs Yoda - January 4, 2012
ya and how many shots did he attempt….we dont need that from a point guard
catsdaddy - January 4, 2012
he was clutch in the forth and won the game. He took time to get going but HE WON THE GAME.
Spurs Yoda - January 4, 2012
tj ford brought us back in the game….the spurs did better with parker on the bench and they would have still won if he stayed on the bench cuz other guys were stepping up
catsdaddy - January 4, 2012
SinCitySpur - January 4, 2012
lmfao AND rofl
In the 666 - January 4, 2012
respectfully disagree. Rewind the game and watch the last 5 minutes of the game.
Spurs Yoda - January 4, 2012
yeah
Parker was incredible in the 4th…Duncan too
just crushed the souls of the Warriors
Duby Dub Dubs - January 5, 2012
And Green. Green had 2 blocks!! Woot!
grego21 - January 5, 2012
Minus Manu, don’t you think Parker needs to shoot? He is the best scorer the Spurs have as of this moment. Whatever position he is playing, scoring is a big part of what the Spurs need him to do.
quincyscott - January 5, 2012 via mobile
And he closed out the game, for Pete’s sake.
quincyscott - January 4, 2012 via mobile
Still no love for the French guy, huh?

quincyscott - January 5, 2012 via mobile
31 – 10 in the forth?? Mike mitchel migt have helped us out tonight.
Spurs Yoda - January 4, 2012
Actually 31-20. FSSW guys didn’t major in math.
Finished on a 21-7 run, though, as the Golden State Montas collapsed.
doggydogworld - January 5, 2012
Wait a minute…My avatar is a GREEN mouse. It has been for years. Oh god…It was destiny all along, everything has been leading up for this. I gotta be the official Green repper.
Hipuks - January 4, 2012
Ummmmm
Spurs Yoda - January 4, 2012
Nope, been here longer. I’m the Prophet of Green.
Hipuks - January 4, 2012

Kondor - January 4, 2012
Green the ’Tone, Gregg Bropovich.

SinCitySpur - January 4, 2012

Brochacha, you can either swim against the rep current or you can swim with it. And with your fucked up hand you should really swim with it.
Hipuks - January 4, 2012
I hate it when you make a good point.
CapHill - January 4, 2012
How long ago was your catastrophic injury?
Hipuks - January 4, 2012
About 2 1/2 years
CapHill - January 4, 2012
Oh then you should be fine by now. Manu broke his hand and he’s only out for two months. And you’re both elite athletes.
Hipuks - January 4, 2012
You are correct.
CapHill - January 4, 2012
But given Cap’s age, his tissues and muscles take longer to heal.
silverandblack_davis - January 4, 2012
I think by this point her tissues just go " Fuck it, how long is this gonna last anyway", and then go back to drinking Bailey’s.
Hipuks - January 4, 2012
Wow you even know the specific brand they drink
doubleteapot - January 4, 2012

PtR memes are like zombies.

Brombies.
Hipuks - January 4, 2012
That made me laugh. I must have already been infected.

Hipuks - January 4, 2012

I don’t have Facebook, my wife always comments to me on people who do that. My answer to her is “Facebook is for losers”.
SinCitySpur - January 4, 2012
It’s true, I use Facebook all the time.
Hipuks - January 4, 2012
No offense, brochacho. I just tell her that to shut her up.
SinCitySpur - January 4, 2012
None taken, Ford Bronco. You gotta do what you gotta do. Just make sure she’s not going around “poking” other bro’s.
Hipuks - January 4, 2012
Too late. She’s always poking other people and getting poked all the time.
SinCitySpur - January 4, 2012
That’s harsh bro, if you ever need someone to talk to about your feelings, you can fuck off. Us bro’s drink beer and and cry on the inside REP THE TONE!!!

You crack me up, Brosama.
Hipuks - January 4, 2012
I just rec’d myself
Edg5 - January 4, 2012
Nice comeback, though we needed some heroics to beat the Ws without Curry at home. It’s gonna be tough for us without Manu.
Kondor - January 4, 2012
It’s ok, because we GOTS GREEN!!!
SinCitySpur - January 4, 2012
OK, I’ll wear green to work tomorrow.
Kondor - January 4, 2012
Does anyone have a vid/clip

Where Pop is yellin & slappin him.
SanAntonioGiant - January 4, 2012
It was nice, Pop all mad and Tony just smiling. I bet, he thought of Eva.
Kondor - January 4, 2012
That was hilarious. Tony was just laughing st him, really. Like, hey, Pop, I’m not nineteen years old anymore!
quincyscott - January 4, 2012 via mobile
Green + gotee = Mini Bruce?
Spurs Yoda - January 4, 2012
He’s the Spurs best defender. With his height, he brings a bit more than Hill. I can see why the Spurs have loved him since last year.

wowza, rec'd!!!
I need to come through here more often, this is an awesome thread
Duby Dub Dubs - January 5, 2012
Thats actually not a horrible trade, I seriously doubt the Suns bite on that though. I have always thought Steve Nash was the best PG of the last decade or so. Though hes pretty old now. His offense and orchestration of offense readily nullifies his poor defense.
alamobro - January 4, 2012
why not to trade for Stockton/Malone then?
Kondor - January 4, 2012
Because Oscar Robertson and Wilt are available, otherwise I would totally bite.
alamobro - January 4, 2012
I was going to go with Russell and anybody, but The Big O and Stilt would be acceptable.
CapHill - January 4, 2012
Pistol Pete!
SinCitySpur - January 4, 2012
Wilt would stink a bit at this point.
Kondor - January 4, 2012
i would start wilt in his grave over splitter
catsdaddy - January 4, 2012
I was assuming we’d use the time machine in Pop’s basement to retrieve him in his prime; otherwise, it wouldn’t make any sense.
CapHill - January 4, 2012
Your right though, I dont know that Nashs last couple of productive years is worth having Tony at a high level for the next few. I just drool at the thought of Nash hooking everyone up with easy shots. Him and Manu would spell death for the opposition.
alamobro - January 4, 2012
But he’s so sweaty and icky.
quincyscott - January 4, 2012 via mobile
Never really noticed.
alamobro - January 4, 2012
nash and duncan are in the last year of the contract so we would have a ridiculous amount of cap room in the off season….suns get parker for the next 3-4 years….spurs would be title contenders especially when ginobili is back but i know im dreaming
catsdaddy - January 4, 2012
Ugh.
Tell you what, let’s also get Nowitzki and Kobe in a Spurs uniform and call it a day. Meanwhile, I’m going to have to find some other team to root for.
quincyscott - January 4, 2012 via mobile
Parker won this game for us in the end.
Kondor - January 4, 2012
We should have got J.J. Barea. And Hasheem Thabeet in the offseason.
SinCitySpur - January 4, 2012
We just won a hard fought game. Try to enjoy it.
CapHill - January 4, 2012

The question is … Who is going to start vs the mavs?
cuentaluis1 - January 4, 2012
Anderson need some motivation
cuentaluis1 - January 4, 2012
He just needs to keep shooting when he is open and the shots will fall
gunnin' gervin - January 4, 2012
DANNY GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!!!!…

gunnin' gervin - January 4, 2012
night all! GREAT WIN! We have our new Mini-Bruce to guard guys on fire again. Also, props to Tony for starting out alittle slow, not looking back, and being incredibly clutch in the final 5 minutes.
Spurs Yoda - January 4, 2012
Now I understand....
Why so many people were high on Danny Green. Maybe it is the Tarheel hater in me but I thought the guy was a scrub an to be honest I’m still waiting for him to consistently play solid like he did tonight before I change my mind. Screw UNC!!!!!!! LOL.
On the real Green balled tonight and he was one of the main reason we pulled this win out.
gunnin' gervin - January 4, 2012
Dude, I need to make you eat crow. :P
I’ve been high on Green and Ford. Even RJ, since I’m the unoficially anointed RJ defender.
Yep, eat it. ;)
grego21 - January 5, 2012
LOL
I will not eat crow yet but if Green keeps playing solid all year I will be happy to give you props. Remember a broken clock is right two times a day
gunnin' gervin - January 5, 2012
I’ll give you that. I just know, he was a big part of UNC’s winning years during his time. He was key there. Smart guy and he’s defense first with an athletic body, but also has a great shot.
He’s arguably the best wing defender. I definitely cringed with Neal in there, as the guards on GS ripped him apart. That said, they also did pretty well against Leonard and Anderson too.
I’ll stand by Green, Ford and even RJ. :)
grego21 - January 5, 2012
Yeah Neal looked awful on defense but he wasn’t that great last year on defense anyway. I was surprised at how well the lil guards scored against Anderson and Leonard though, especially Curry. I mean I can kind of understand Ellis torching the young guys because of his athletic and finishing ability. Curry is a great shooter and a smart shot creator but not really gonna blow by you or finish crazy in traffic like Ellis.
I wish we would’ve had a real training camp and season this year because I’m sure it would help both of them
gunnin' gervin - January 5, 2012
Yes, he wasn’t great, but he was quicker. He was a step slow in this game. Austin would have at least got him in more game shape for defense. His shot when he had time was good, but all the off the dribble (more than 2-3 dribbles) was pretty bad on offense.
I looked back and realized Green didn’t see time until the end of the 3rd. I’m going to be really pissed if Pop pulls that again. Green has been outplaying all the wings so he definitely deserves more time.
That said, yes, GSW is a great wing team and not exactly ideal to test Neal’s D.
grego21 - January 5, 2012
I met Dale tonight at the game. It’s weird meeting someone you’ve just read for so long. Dude can definitely talk! But all interesting stuff. Great game tonight with a lot of promising beginnings.
Fred Silva - January 4, 2012
I’D SAY!
Josh Guyer (completely deck) - January 4, 2012
Did you get a word in?
grego21 - January 5, 2012
Clips are killing the Rockets. Lob City. With both Dallas and Houston struggling and Memphis missing ZBo maybe the Spurs won’t lag too far behind on the division.
Edg5 - January 4, 2012
Yep. Indeed.

I can’t do what you all can do with the clips and photoshops, but there is an ad from the NC Education Lottery that can be found on YouTube about the “Mean Green” scratch off game. Someone might be able to use this for a Danny Green meme.
TX2NC - January 4, 2012
Great rally! I’ve lost my voice but hopefully I’ll get it back tomorrow because I’ll be going to that one too. Let’s defeat those defending
champschumps tomorrow!GO SPURS GO!!!

Does cats realize that tony has won 3 championships, while his coveted Nash didn’t really come close to even 1?

Please, don’t be brining facts into the argument. ;)
CapHill - January 5, 2012
Yes, facts destroy arguments. That is a bad thing!
grego21 - January 5, 2012
Man, Neal really should stay in Austin. He’s a step too slow on D. At least, he can’t play against a team like GS who has solid guards… Once the better defensive wings, like Green were in, things changed a lot.
grego21 - January 5, 2012
he was very rusty but he still hit some shots. I dont think he should stay in Austin, especially this season where he’s not going to get time to practice with the Spurs. I’m not worried about him.
spursfan87 - January 5, 2012
Yes, but his defense needs work. It’s tough to experiment on defense when the team is giving up points way too easily.
grego21 - January 5, 2012
It does need work, it was average at best last year, to be fair Ellis and Curry were torching everybody last night and it was Neal first game in a while.
But the point I’m trying to make is that Neal is better off staying with the team instead of going to Austin especially is this condensed season. Thats the best way to get into NBA shape and get chemistry with your new teammates.
spursfan87 - January 5, 2012
Yes, they were outside of Green. That said, the Spurs had their worst hit on D when Neal was in. The +/- even supports that part.
I’m not saying Neal is bad for the team overall, but the lineups did not work well, defensively, when he was in. Against GSW, it just didn’t work as the net benefit was worse than the net gain.
That can change depending on the team, but I think Pop should have pulled him sooner.
grego21 - January 5, 2012
I’m not sure his offense made up for his defense.
grego21 - January 5, 2012
Coach Pop pissed
SanAntonioGiant - January 5, 2012
Does anyone know why he was so pissed? Wasn’t this right after Tony’s crazy floater?
mcmccaleb - January 5, 2012
He apparently didnt run the play that Pop wanted him to run in the previous possession and was trying to run it just before the time out. But Pop wanted him to be aggressive. I think it was some kind of mis communication.
Heman - January 5, 2012
Is like “Finally you are doing what i told you to do”
cuentaluis1 - January 5, 2012
That slap had some force to it. But Tony made some really huge shots after this little confrontation.
He must be slapped before the beginning of every game from now on.
Hipuks - January 5, 2012
aaaaand watch the queue form…
sleep research facility - January 5, 2012
Impressive. Love our coach.
MikeyKosa - January 5, 2012
I was under the impression he wasn’t angry…I think I saw the words “Good job” mouthed by him, which is why TP is laughing.
Josh Guyer (completely deck) - January 5, 2012
I agree, thats was after Tony hit a big basket, Pop was not mad.
spursfan87 - January 5, 2012
He was angry, then he was sad, then he was happy. He’s secretly bi-polar CIA Pop.
grego21 - January 5, 2012
Good to see Pop coaching again after a few years :P
spursfan87 - January 5, 2012
Oh, no you didn’t
grego21 - January 5, 2012
This is Pop fired up. I imagine it was something like, “You get a step on a guy and you blow by him every time. You should have been doing this all night. Take that shot. That’s your shot. Good job, now get over there.” We were fooled again. It’s not a duck!
Fred Silva - January 5, 2012
Hooray for the Spurs!
Hooray for sleep crack!
