Hey everyone. I see that one of the worst teams at putting the ball in the hoop has 55 points against us already. I am not surprised. haha Whats the story of the game??
I have a little theory I have been thinking for a while now: The spurs defensive philosofy (Popovich’s) has always been protect the paint with Timmeh, guard the 3 point line at all costs and let the other team shoot a bunch of long 2 pointers.
That worked for years, but not only Tim has aged (and plays less minutes) I think that the NBA in general has become better at shooting those long 2’s. Teams are more offensive minded each year, and “defensive specialists” that cant shoot are becoming rarer each passing season. Rudy’s has good chicken (and b-fast tacos, but that’s not bbq), but the rest is meh to me… I see your point though. when I lived in CO I had family send me some Kruetz sausage up to me. I used that shiz as currency up there, good times…
gotta say, kreuz has gone downhill…try smitty’s or black.s instead. or even chisolm trail. and, southside market is always awesome (but closed on sundays). word.
Something I’ve been noticing these past few games. Once Tony and Tim go out and Green and Tiago come in, the defense immediately tightens up. Since when did our starters (minus Manu) become our liability?
What’s the Spurs single game record? I remember watching a game on national TV in 1995 where Avery Johnson had 20, and they interviewed him right after the game on the court. The first thing he did was thank “The Lord, my savior, Jesus Christ…” Very humble.
