waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Damn this sucks. I don’t mind the lost but losing ginobili is a different story.

waaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Manu-carpal, please come back!

Get well soon manu :(

TD has been at practice, comes in after a hard workout and Pop chewing his ear.

“How come you guys weren’t at practice? Pop was steamed.”

TP: “Practice? We talking about practice?”

Manu: “Tony spiked my pre-practice sports drink. I can’t feel my feet.”

I would’ve been first, but I hurt my left hand typing. Think it’s the pinky, too.

Ian placing quality minutes in DAL

damn

8 points, 7 Reb in 13 mins

damn. if only he was as this useful when he was with us

You can look at it differently; they actually letting him play in DAL

can’t believe he learned something in Dallas

He learned everything with the Spurs but DAL is taking advantage of it.

How about fouls? I really wish we had kept him.

Didn’t make sense to keep him, at the time. At least, for him as a person, he’s able to prosper now that he’s not at the complete bottom of the bench.

True, but I wanted to hang on to him even then. Selfish, yeah, but I wanted to see him get past his fouling issues and reach his potential.

Call this whatever oppurtunity you like for the younger guys, this sucks for us.

cartoonspurs had double the posts of the second poster

spurs have always been my number 1 team, with indiana second. maybe it’s time to switch….

::ducks::

Spurs is my 1st and 2d team

“That’s not fair”

“That’s my Shooting Guard, my Shooting Guard!”

“dats muh quawata back ;(”

I blame this all on danny ferry boring mojo…..

he made them sleepy. yes, i concur.

That was a frequent comment at Canis Hoopus.

The Spurs announcers were boring but effective. Just like the Spurs have always been.

Can someone fill me in on Manu? What happened? During the game?

manu broke his hand

tried for steal as player went by, broke 5th metacarpal (pinky finger, but in the palm)

Damn!!! : (

Similar break for me (4th metacarpal). I had a cast for 8 weeks. Took another 4 to feel better.

He fractured his 5th metacarpal after reaching-in on Tolliver in the 2nd QT

Wow Vince Carter is actually doing something

Don’t worry. His nickname Half Player, Half Effort is there for a reason.

Miami lost though, so not everything is bad

What do you mean Manu is hurt…… you’re lying!!

Well… this begs the question… do we make a move?

No. You can’t. Spurs depth is at the wings. You now show whether it is real depth or fake depth.

You have Anderson, Green, Leonard, RJ and Neal (who will be back soon).

I’m not sure how I feel about this picture

Bad Paco, put it down!

damn, killing yourself with a toygun?

Dal. 78 OKC 65 end of 3rd

does anybody know how long Manu may be out with this kind of injury?

At least a month at minimum.

7-10 weeks is my guess.

Not many positives from the game, especially since Twolves had so many TOs yet still won by a decent margin.

RJ, Green, Splitter, Ford all had pretty good games.

Timmy’s outside shot looked good early on.

Forgot about that. Yep. he looked good early on. Very active as we wanted him to be.

GIF SPAM

Tiago broke my Mac Air!

Over and over again.

“That’ll learn you for getting my stats wrong! I had FIVE rebounds, not Four!

I didn’t come here all the way from sunny Brazil for some fool in the back office to get my game stats wrong!"

@JoeAlexander210: Spurs assistant coach Don Newman says on post-game show that they expect Manu Ginobili to be out 4-6 weeks.

Pretty serious for a shortened season

Yes, in some ways it could be a blessing as Manu avoids the harsh season and is fresher (in the way he plays). At least Spurs weaknesses are not at the wings with RJ/Anderson/Leonard/Green/Neal

[Trying to be positive]

Some dude on ESPN said that this is what happened to Boozer last season, and he missed 2 months. So there’s a bit of perspective.

although boozer is a bit of a pussy sooo…

Which rightly sets Manu on the aforementioned 4-6 weeks track. =)

Pop: Anderson starts

Pop just said &erson starts now.

it’s time to show your stuff Mr. &erson!

Well, sink or swim time for Anderson.

It’s a collective effort, but this should help him, Leonard and Green (especially him since he was getting very little time). Also good for Neal as there was a logjam once he got back.

My best case scenario is that Anderson plays good enough to be a starter SG, finds his shot back and his confidence. When Manu returns, comes off the bench with Neal, Leonard, Tiago and Bonner.

Well, in the best case, it means the team develops more weapons and bolsters the bench. This could play useful down the stretch. A fresh Manu for the post season ain’t bad either…

[Staying positive]

then we get even better in the long run

Are we going to make playoff’s without Manu? Don’t shoot me now. I’m really worried.

already seen a number of comments (mostly from non-spurs fans) saying we’re done and dusted. let’s prove those bastards wrong.

Oh those idiots people always come out of the wood works everytime something like this happens… like if we lose a game. I’m used to it by now.

Let the young guns roll.

I’m almost tempted to join the “tank” crowd. But, we’re not getting a good seed unless Anderson and RJ can muster up some Manuesque magic.

It’s early enough in the season that I think it’s better that it occurred now. I thought Spurs did pretty well at the wing positions this game. Twolves shot like crazy though.

Yeah, prior to this game, Spurs were 12th in shooting percentage defense, which is better than last season. Now, probably not so much.

Honestly, I don’t think that changes too much. I’d argue as magical as Manu is, his perimeter defense isn’t as great as it once was. Now, don’t get me wrong. I’d always want him to close a game, but Anderson has a better, younger body so for the season, I don’t think the drop off is as big as it would seem. They’ll miss Manu’s offense more than his D.

I think this is where Parker now becomes more of a scorer (6 assist/night) rather than 8 assist/night) type game.

I was thinking more in terms of this specific game’s effect on that stat.

More concerning to me is that the obvious “hero” in every Spurs win this season so far was Manu. Every time.

At least, Neal is coming back soon. Parker has some of those abilities. And Duncan is no stranger. I’m sad, but I can live with it now than end of January.

I think what we would be missing is Manu’s play making more than his scoring. Hope Tony steps up without burning himself out before Manu returns..

At least Spurs now have Ford. And Joseph (until Neal comes back).

I think RJ’s playing OK so far. Maybe this is his time to shine.

That will be nice to see, but he works best with Manu.

His game is working well with everyone now that he can shoot off the quick dribble.

I agree. I saw some of those pick and pop plays and the quick release last season but the Spurs veered away from those plays. They’re using it more often this season.

At least they looked at the game tape and went “oh, look, that worked well”

we’ve got to believe in a shortened season seeding will matter less – in 99 the Knicks made the Finals from the 8th seed. If we have a fresh manu we match up better against probable first seed OKC than about any other team in the west.

Also, the consistency in the play o0f teams right now, especially with back-to-back-to-backs makes it easier for teams to not pull away.

Honestly, I dont care about seeding at this point. All that I want is for the SPurs to make the playoffs with good health.

Yes, I believe so. That’s not to say that Manu isn’t important. They’ll definitely have a tough time against the top teams, but their schedule in the first half has a decent amount of home games. The depth for the Spurs is at the wings, so at least it’s in this area and not elsewhere.

bummer. bad news always seems to follow games when spurs play the t-wolves

@DeJuan45Make a lay up DEJUAN DAMN! My bad SPURS FANS had a lot on my mind but that’s no excuse at all! We will b good! GOTTA STEP IT UP BIG TIME NOW

Good to know DeJuan isn’t letting his personal life affect his play on the court.

So 100 tweets at the middle of the night?

Trade him for Cousins. If they’re both head cases, then I’ll take the more talented of the two.

* ducks and covers *

the daily DeJuan twitter meltdown

Well, shit. That game was horrible. Manu, get well soooon. And Neal, you, too.

Aren’t we glad we didn’t make one of those hypothetical Neal trades?

It depends on what the trade would have brought back. Hey, it’s pure hypothetical though.

I'M SO SORRY I LIED

...

I’m going to open every door like that from now on.

we will be fine until the rodeo road trip (hanging about .500), there we are going to need Manu badly

And OKC lost against the Mavs.

no undefeated left

Washington is un-undefeated

I see what you did there.

Tony Parker is going to have to play like an All Star for the next couple of months if this team is going to be competitive. That, and they gotta play some defense.

@manuginobili: I have the 5th metacarpal of my left hand fractured. I guess I’ll miss a few weeks. Sad day 4 me.

I hate it when Manu is sad.

He’ll feel better when he sees his kids.

Not the only one with a sad day…

Way to start the new year. I’m very saaadd

Get well soon, the Sickness!!

Well, this is the only way for us to be the first line on espn.

If that is the case, I never want us to be on the first line.

PISSED!!!
haha…

lol. Storm trooper Tebowing in the background. LMAO

that’s a reflection/jedi mind trick, messin’ with you….

I know. But still funny

indeed, I meant to put a “haha!!!” on the beginning of that…. sorry.

The first game of 2012 and we lose the one player we couldn’t really afford to lose. This shortened season just got a bit longer for us.

We’ll be fine. I didn’t watch the game, but losing Manu for a month shouldn’t doom our (regular) season. If he comes back in time to get ready for the playoffs (which we will make) it’s OK. It’s time to stop relying on Manu’s magic and start executing to get wins. Tony is going to score 20 a game.

Let’s see of we really have something on Anderson and Leonard. Plus, the Nailgun is coming back soon :)

Spurs depth at the wings finally gets a test. Is it real? We’ll see…

Anderson/Leonard/RJ/Green/Neal.

Exactly. Manu was the only one of the Big Three that actually had capable backups. If this was Tony, our season would be in a lot of trouble.
Anderson running the pick and roll with the starters and Tony being really aggressive for a month? I can live with that.
Hopefully losing Manu for a while doesn’t damage the team’s morale too much.

A good sign was Green making great use of his time. He defended Rubio solid.

But played well overall. That sweet 3-pt stroke doesn’t hurt either.

I don’ t think I’ve made it through a season on PTR yet without an injury to one of our big 3. Of course, I joined in 2008.

Just read about the Manu Man…tough loss Pounders, I hope he heals fast

Well at least we will find out how good the young guys are. Manu has been playing great and it is very sad this happened. I wish him a speedy recovery

We need medieval armor for every game

Well this is a real kick in the nether regions. Still, I have faith others will rally up. Still think Tony can take over games when necessary.

Parker is fun to watch.

He’s a damned waterbug on the court. Didn’t notice him much tonight, though.

I didn’t get to catch tonight’s game. After the lockout, I decided against League Pass, so I don’t get to catch games like before. Even if he didn’t do much tonight, I still have faith he’ll step up.

Kid just missed the GW FG for Stanford…. OT it is!!!

GO CAPPY’S TEAM GO!!!

Cowboys win!!! (not Dallas, they sucked!)!!!

Somewhere in Austin, Da’Sean Butler has taken his phone off "vibrate" mode.

That might be true, but his stay will only be short if it is even happening as once Neal is back, Spurs are still pretty stacked at the wing positions.
